It is very good to have knowledge for checking your own self by following some methods instead of going to doctor in every week, to ask exactly what is skin cancer. Although, it is advisable to visit doctor after every month but you have to examine yourself weekly for the skin cancer.

First thing that you have to do is stand in front of mirror and take a hand mirror in your hand. See your whole body deeply and check if you have freckles, blemishes or moles on your body. Then sit down and see your legs, thighs and even your feet for any thing that seems odd. You can use the hand mirror to check the areas which could not be sighted through the use of huge mirror or naked eyes like your back.

Check all the body areas that are mostly expose in front of the sun like your back, your legs, hands, arms, feet and face.

You have to look for the cancer cells that most of the time appears on the hands, legs, arms and neck. These cells are called basal or squamous, that is what is cancer is all about.

You have to check your body for these two cells whether theses lumps are appearing on your body or not. They can be crusted, scaly, and rough and look likes reddish and flat. Most of the time, they appear as rashes and you ignore them and take it as  some sun burn or rash but you can find them if you self examine yourself. And if you found any lump on your body then consult doctor immediately to get the instant cure for the skin cancer. Kep in mind prevention is always better than the idea of chemotherapy treatment.
